Ravens force 5 turnovers in 24-10 win over Browns

The Ravens are making a habit of converting turnovers into victories.

Baltimore relentlessly harassed two Cleveland quarterbacks, Joe Flacco ramped up his production with a pair of touchdown passes and the Ravens breezed past the Browns 24-10 on Sunday.

Building on their season-opening shutout at Cincinnati, the Ravens picked off four passes and forced a fumble - giving them 10 takeaways in two games.

The victory carried a stiff price: Six-time Pro Bowl guard Marshal Yanda fractured his left ankle and will be lost for the season.

"Unfortunately, it's bad news," coach John Harbaugh said. "We'll have to bounce back from it, and we'll have to handle it."

Most of the defense's damage came against Browns rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer, who left with a migraine headache in the second quarter after four ineffective series: a three-and-out, a lost fumble, an interception and a punt.

The former Notre Dame starter was replaced by second-year pro Kevin Hogan, who would become the third quarterback in two games to be intercepted by the Baltimore defense.

Kizer said the headaches are hereditary, and that he hasn't had one crop up in a game since high school. He received medication, underwent concussion protocol, and finally received clearance to return in the third quarter with Baltimore up 21-10.

On his second series back, Kizer moved the Browns to the Baltimore 7 before being picked off in the end zone by Lardarius Webb.

Brandon Carr's interception with 6:09 remaining all but sealed the victory.

Coming off a solid performance in his debut against Pittsburgh, Kizer went 15 for 31 for 182 yards with three interceptions and a lost fumble.

Hogan completed five of 11 passes for 118 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

"The turnovers will always stick out because it stops you from scoring points or leads to points for the other team," coach Hue Jackson said.

Both were outdone by Flacco, playing his second game since returning from a sore back that kept him sidelined the entire preseason. After going 9 for 17 in a keep-it-simple outing against the Bengals, Flacco went 25 for 34 for 217 yards in the encore.

"Get a lead and get pressure on the (other) quarterback is a good winning recipe," Flacco said. "Putting guys in that situation the last two weeks has been big for us."

As he matures, Kizer ultimately will come to understand the problem of holding the ball too long in the pocket - a mistake that put the Browns in an early hole.

On Cleveland's second series, Kizer was looking for a receiver when sacked by Terrell Suggs. The rookie fumbled, Baltimore recovered, and minutes later Terrance West scored on a 4-yard run.

Kizer's next turnover wasn't entirely his fault: With the Browns at the Baltimore 26, his pass glanced off the hands of running back Duke Johnson into the arms of safely Eric Weddle.

Baltimore went up 14-0 in the second quarter when Flacco completed two straight passes totaling 43 yards to tight end Benjamin Watson before Javorius Allen caught a 9-yard TD throw.

Hogan entered and promptly took the Browns on an 83-yard drive that ended with his first career touchdown pass, to David Njoku.

But Flacco countered with a 2-yard TD pass to Jeremy Maclin on the final play of the half, and that was enough to hand Cleveland its 14th consecutive road defeat.

NEXT MAN UP

The Ravens will be looking at another shuffle of an already thin offensive line with Yanda out.

"It's a big loss for us," center Ryan Jensen said, "but you got to keep pushing and keep going. You can't dwell on that situation."

OH, SNAP!

Browns left tackle Joe Thomas passed the 10,000-mark with his remarkable streak of consecutive snaps played.

Thomas hasn't missed a snap since breaking into the league in 2007. He reached 10,000 in a row on the first play of Cleveland's second series, and began work on his next 10,000 snaps immediately thereafter.

Houston Texans defensive star J.J. Watt said on his Twitter account: "10,000 consecutive snaps. That's unbelievable. Hats off to you good sir."

INJURIES

Browns: WR Corey Coleman's afternoon ended after he hurt his hand on a fourth-quarter play. The Browns later tweeted that LB Jamie Collins sustained a concussion.

Ravens: Rookie backup LB Bam Bradley tore his ACL and is lost for the season. ... DT Brandon Williams hurt his foot in the third quarter and did not return. ... Maclin missed time in the first quarter with a right shoulder stinger.

Ravens: Baltimore heads abroad for its first game in London, a matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Ravens lost the first eight games in the series and have since won nine of 12.

Ravens force 5 Dalton turnovers, beat Bengals 20-0

With Joe Flacco easing back in from a back injury, the Ravens went out and got a victory old-style.

Baltimore's rebuilt defense picked off Andy Dalton four times and forced him to fumble Sunday, and the Ravens pulled away to a 20-0 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals that reminded them of the days when they'd win games with a defense that got into quarterbacks' heads.

"I like to see touchdowns, but if we've got to play lights-out defense, that's what we're going to do," said linebacker Terrell Suggs , who had a pair of sacks and tipped a pass.

The Ravens pressured Dalton into matching his career high for interceptions , three of them in the first half. Two were tipped, and the other was a throw he forced into double coverage in the end zone that C.J. Mosley picked off.

The Ravens took control with a pair of touchdowns 24 seconds apart late in the half. Flacco saw the Bengals ready to blitz with no defender in the middle of the field, and he hit Jeremy Maclin in stride on a slant for a 48-yard catch-and-run.

Two plays later, Suggs batted Dalton's pass high in the air and Lardarius Webb grabbed it. Terrance West's 2-yard touchdown run made it 17-0.

The Ravens didn't need anything else, given how the defense was dominating.

"Any time you get a shutout, it's huge," said safety Tony Jefferson, one of the new additions. "To do it today in the opener? Man!"

The Ravens' overriding question was how Flacco would hold up after missing all of camp and the preseason with a bad back. The defense made sure he didn't have to do much. Flacco was 9 of 17 for 121 yards with an interception against a defense missing suspended linebacker Vontaze Burfict and cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones.

"It was one of our old-fashioned games," said Flacco , in his 10th season. "It reminded me of one of our games when I was a rookie."

The Bengals had breakdowns everywhere as they were shut out in a season opener for the first time since 1979. They'd never been blanked in a home opener. The Bengals managed only 221 total yards and had nine penalties.

"This was as disappointing as it can be," coach Marvin Lewis said.

Baltimore has tormented Dalton like few others. He's had nine three-interception games during his career, four of them against Baltimore. His only other four-interception game also was against the Ravens in the 2013.

"It wasn't confusing," Dalton said. "I just didn't play well."

After missing the playoffs for the third time in four seasons, Baltimore put its emphasis on upgrading the defense. It paid off right away, with newcomer Brandon Carr getting the first interception .

Dalton was under heavy pressure behind Cincinnati's inexperienced line and finished 16 of 31 for 170 yards and was sacked five times.

SHUTOUT HISTORY

It was the Ravens' third season-opening shutout. They also blanked Pittsburgh in 2000 and Tampa Bay in 2006, both on the road. The Bengals hadn't been blanked in their season opener since 1979, when they lost at Denver 10-0. They hadn't been shut out at Paul Brown Stadium since 2001 by the Bears.

GRIND `EM DOWN

The Ravens essentially put it away with a 17-play, 81-yard drive in the third quarter that lasted 9 minutes, 38 seconds and ended in a field goal. The drive included 14 runs for 54 yards, two incompletions and three penalties on the Bengals: unnecessary roughness, pass interference and defensive holding.

The Ravens rushed for 157 yards overall, including 90 by West and 71 by Javorius Allen.

"This was a game that running the ball turned out to be a key," coach John Harbaugh said . "I thought we were really patient with it."

INJURIES

Ravens RB Danny Woodhead injured his left hamstring on the opening series and didn't return, another setback for a depleted offense. LB Za'Darius Smith hurt his left knee in the second quarter and was helped off the field.

Bengals RG guard Trey Hopkins hurt his left knee late in the first half and didn't return. DE Michael Johnsonsuffered a concussion on the final play of the first half and didn't return.

Fitzpatrick solid in relief in Jets' 24-16 win over Ravens

Fitz Magic returned afterGeno Smith's sequel ended early, and the New York Jets got their first victory in over a month.

Fitzpatrick replaced an injured Smith and led the Jets on three scoring drives, and a rejuvenated defense came up with two rare interceptions in a 24-16 comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday that snapped a four-game skid.

"It's a pretty ironic situation," Fitzpatrick said.

Fitzpatrick came in for Smith, starting for the first time since 2014, in the second quarter and led the Jets on a go-ahead drive capped by a 13-yard touchdown catch by Matt Forte. Fitzpatrick finished 9 of 14 for 120 yards and a touchdown for the Jets (2-5), whose last win came at Buffalo on Sept. 15.

"It's about damn time," safety Calvin Pryor said.

Smith injured his right knee while taking a sack from Baltimore's Matthew Judon and will have an MRI to determine if he needs to be sidelined. Center Nick Mangold (knee) and linebacker Bruce Carter (hamstring) were also injured.

Fitzpatrick was efficient after losing his job earlier in the week. Coach Todd Bowles decided to start Smith over Fitzpatrick , who had thrown an NFL-leading 11 interceptions and just five touchdown passes. Smith was 4 of 8 for 95 yards and a TD to Quincy Enunwa.

Justin Tucker put the Ravens (3-4) back up 16-14 as time expired in the first half with his third field goal, a 44-yarder.

Joe Flacco started for Baltimore after being questionable with a sore shoulder . He went a team-record 176 consecutive throws without an interception before Buster Skrine picked off his pass in the third quarter and returned it 51 yards to the Ravens 3.

But the Jets faltered and had to settle for Nick Folk's 22-yard field goal and a 17-16 lead.

The defense made it two possessions in a row with a takeaway - after coming in with just four all season - asMarcus Gilchrist picked off Flacco and returned it 27 yards to the Ravens 24.

This time, the Jets cashed in, but not before some hot potato with the football.

On second-and-goal from the 6, Forte ran up the middle for 3 yards and had the ball ripped out of his hands.Timmy Jernigan recovered for Baltimore and tried to advance, but Brandon Marshall stripped the ball and recovered it for the Jets.

"At the end of the day, coach says the best thing for me to do was to fall on the ball," Jernigan said. "From now on, I'm going to fall on the ball."

Three plays later, Forte ran it in from 1 yard.

Forte finished with 100 yards and a TD on 30 carries and four catches for 54 yards and a score. He also joined Marshall Faulk, Marcus Allen, Thurman Thomas and Herschel Walker as the only players with 8,000 yards rushing, 4,000 yards receiving and 20 TD receptions. With 3:04 left, Folk had a chance to seal the victory, but his 51-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Brandon Williams.

Again, the Jets' defense came up big, with Marcus Williams knocking away Flacco's desperation heave as the Ravens dropped their fourth straight - and second in a row at MetLife Stadium after losing 27-23 to the Giants last week .

Flacco was 25 of 44 for 248 yards and the two interceptions.

"Right now, it's us versus ourselves," Brandon Williams said. "We've got to look within ourselves and look at each other and fix the stupid stuff."

SMITH'S QUICK START

Enunwa motored down the left sideline and outran two Ravens for a 69-yard touchdown in the first quarter. An excited Smith ran all the way down the field to celebrate with Enunwa as fireworks went off at MetLife Stadium.

It was Smith's first touchdown pass since Week 8 of last season at Oakland, when he stepped in for an injured Fitzpatrick. It was also Smith's first start since the 2014 season finale at Miami.

WHOOPS

Baltimore took a 7-0 lead when rookie Lachlan Edwards, punting on the Jets' first offensive series, had the snap go through his hands. Edwards couldn't corral the football as Moore recovered and ran it in for 2 yards.

TOUGH SLEDDING

After giving up 171 yards rushing, including 111 to David Johnson, at Arizona, the Jets held Baltimore to a franchise-low 6 yards on the ground.

Terrance West, who came in having rushed for 295 yards in his last three games, finished with 10 yards on eight carries.

BANGED-UP RAVENS

The Ravens had several starters sitting out: linebackers Terrell Suggs (biceps), Elvis Dumervil (foot), C.J. Mosley (thigh), wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. (ankle), cornerback Shareece Wright (thigh), guard Marshal Yanda (shoulder) and left tackle Ronnie Stanley (foot).

BYRD HONORED

The Jets honored the late Dennis Byrd with a pregame video tribute after he was killed last weekend in a car accident in Oklahoma.

Byrd was an inspiration to many after he overcame brief paralysis and walked again just a few months after injuring his neck during a play in 1992. The defensive lineman, who played for the Jets for four seasons, died in a two-vehicle collision last Saturday. He was 50.

Beckham's career day, late 66-yard TD lead Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. reined in some of the emotions, the exaggerated behavior, the penalties and on-field feuds. Then he did what he does best - make big plays.

A banged-up Beckham turned a short fourth-and-1 pass into a winning 66-yard catch and run with 1:24 to play Sunday as the New York Giants snapped a three-game losing streak with a stunning 27-23 victory over the hurting Baltimore Ravens (3-3).

Beckham caught eight passes for a career-best 222 yards and two touchdowns despite having to leave the field in the first half with a hip pointer in carrying the Giants (3-3) to their 700th win in franchise history.

"I am going to go out there and play the same way every time," Beckham said of his many problems on the field this season. "I don't think I played any different besides me being injured. It was the same passing. I think because I was hurt I couldn't express it as much as I wanted to."

That's debatable. After catching a 75-yard scoring pass in the third quarter, Beckham imitated a triple jumper - playing off a line in a commercial in which he appears. He then went to the Giants' sideline and smashed the kicking net with his helmet. When it flopped to the ground, he laid under it.

After his winning catch, he took off his helmet and drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

The Ravens (3-3) got to the Giants 24 in the waning seconds, thanks to a questionable roughing-the-quarterback penalty on Joe Flacco, but the Giants broke up a pass in the end zone.

The Giants were on the verge of a fourth straight loss after Terrance West scored on a 2-yard run with 2:04 to play, giving the Ravens a short-lived 23-20 lead.

West's second short touchdown run came three plays after Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was flagged for a questionable pass interference at the New York 8.

But Beckham came through on a call Eli Manning changed at the line of scrimmage. Cornerback Tavon Youngeither slipped or was hurt covering him.

Ravens safety Eric Weddle said Beckham should not have gotten inside on the quick cross from right to left.

"Hey, Odell made some amazing plays, you got to credit him," Weddle said. "We held him down in the first half. We had some guys go down. The guys behind them have to step up. That's why we're here. We play an aggressive style defense. We man guys up. We just didn't get it done."

Beckham did.

"He is a playmaker, he is a game changer and he did exactly that today," said linebacker Jonathan Casillas, who stopped West on fourth-and-goal from the 1 earlier in the quarter.

Flacco (26 of 48 for 307 yards) drove the Ravens to the Giants 24 in the waning seconds. But his final pass was knocked down in the end zone.

Manning (32 of 46 for 403 yards) also a threw 24-yard touchdown pass to Roger Lewis Jr . Josh Brown had field goals of 21 and 31 yards, the latter set up by a 43-yard catch by Beckham.

Justin Tucker kicked field goals of 23, 39 and 35 yards in Marty Mornhinweg's first game as Baltimore offensive coordinator.

BYRD HONORED

Before the game, the Giants held a moment of silence for former Jets defensive end Dennis Byrd. The 50-year-old Byrd, who walked again after being paralyzed in a game, was killed in an automobile accident Saturday. The Giants and Jets have played in the same facility for more than three decades.

INJURIES

The Ravens came into the game without five starters: WR Steve Smith Sr., T Ronnie Stanley, G Marshal Yanda, Returner Devin Hester Sr. and LB C.J. Mosley. CB Jimmy Smith did not play in the second half because of a concussion.

DELAYS

Fans were delayed getting into MetLife Stadium because of an investigation into a fatal accident that happened around 3:30 a.m. on the major road next to the facility. It was not cleared until roughly two hours before game time.

NUMBERS

Manning's TD pass to Lewis was the 300th of his career. The win was his 100th. His 32 completions tied for the fifth-highest total of his career. He now has completed 3,846 passes, moving him past Drew Bledsoe (3,839) and into eighth place on the NFL's all-time list. Beckham's 222 yards receiving were the second most in Giants history: Del Shofner had 269 yards vs. Washington on Oct. 28, 1962.

Streaking Redskins get defensive in 16-10 win over Ravens

The Washington Redskins abandoned their usual formula for victory - the passing of Kirk Cousins - to extend their winning streak to three.

Washington used an 85-yard punt return by Jamison Crowderand an uncharacteristically strong performance by its defense to beat the Baltimore Ravens 16-10 on Sunday.

The Redskins (3-2) allowed 108 points in their first four games and came in with the league's 29th-ranked defense. In this one, Washington gave up a touchdown on the game's opening drive and smothered the Ravens (3-2) the rest of the way.

"The defense stepped up," coach Jay Gruden said. "The first drive was a little scary. Here we go again. But we came back, took it personal and played well."

The game wasn't decided until the final minute, when an apparent 23-yard touchdown catch by Baltimore's Breshad Perriman was overturned by replay. Perriman got his right foot down in the end zone, but his left foot was out of bounds.

That put an appropriate end to a miserable day for the Ravens offense, which was limited to 125 yards after halftime.

"We can't play like that and win," coach John Harbaugh said. "We have to be better than we were today."

Crowder scored Washington's first TD with a sensational run through the middle of the Baltimore punt return team in the second quarter.

The Redskins went ahead 13-10 in the third quarter with a 50-yard drive following a wind-shortened punt bySam Koch. Cousins connected with Crowder for 23 yards before lofting a 21-yard pass to Pierre Garcon, who got behind Jimmy Smith and caught the ball in the left side of the end zone.

The definitive momentum shift occurred minutes later. With the Redskins operating from near their own 3, Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley intercepted a pass by Cousins at the 13, but lost control of the football while reaching for the end zone. The ball rolled out of bounds in the end zone for a touchback, and the Redskins subsequently moved 72 yards for a field goal and a 16-10 lead.

Cousins went 29 for 41 for 260 yards. But it was the defense that won the game for the Redskins.

Washington repeatedly frustrated Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco, who was 30 for 46 for 210 yards and sacked three times.

The Ravens have lost two in a row - both at home - after opening with three straight wins. All of their games have been decided by six points or fewer.

Baltimore scored a touchdown on its opening possession for the first time this season, on a 7-yard pass from Flacco to tight end Crockett Gillmore.

Crowder responded with the Redskins' first punt return for a touchdown since 2008. But the conversion attempt clanged off the left upright.

A field goal by Justin Tucker made it 10-6 in the second quarter. The Ravens had a chance to add to the lead after recovering a fumble by Matt Jones at the Washington 15, but a fake field-goal attempt went awry.

WINDBLOWN

Playing in a stiff wind, neither team got much from its kicking game. Dustin Hopkins missed an extra point for Washington and came up short on a 56-yard field goal try.

Baltimore opted to try a fake field goal in the second quarter, and failed. Later, Koch got off a 36-yard punt that didn't rise more than 20 feet off the ground.

INJURIES

Redskins: CB Josh Norman missed part of the second quarter with an undisclosed injury. OT Morgan Moseswas taken out with a head injury that was not deemed to be a concussion.

Ravens: Baltimore played most of the game without receiver Steve Smith, who sprained an ankle late in the first quarter. The Ravens also lost OT Rick Wagner (thigh) and endured a second straight game without rookie tackle Ronnie Stanley (foot).

INACTIVES

Redskins: Top draft picks Josh Doctson (Achilles) and Su'a Cravens (concussion) were on the inactive list. Also inactive: starting CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle).

Ravens: CB Shareece Wright was inactive. He started the first four games, but struggled in the last three. Ravens say Wright had back spasms recently, but he practiced all week.

RUNNING MEN

Redskins: Jones ran for 31 yards on 14 carries and lost a fumble for the first time this season.

Ravens: Terrance West peeled off a 35-yard run on the opening possession, Baltimore's longest of the year. He finished with 95 yards on 11 carries.

Carr throws 4 TD passes as Raiders beat Ravens 28-27

For the first time in years, the Oakland Raiders have developed a knack for winning on the road.

Derek Carr threw four touchdown passes, the last to Michael Crabtree with 2:12 left, and the Raiders beat the previously undefeated Baltimore Ravens 28-27 on Sunday.

After the Ravens rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to go ahead with 3 1/2 minutes remaining, Carr directed a 66-yard drive that ended with a 23-yard strike to Crabtree in the back of the end zone.

The last time Oakland (3-1) won its first three road games of the season was in 2002.

East coast, West coast, the Raiders don't care.

"We really at some point stopped talking about the time zones and all that," coach Jack Del Rio said. "I think good football teams find a way to play well wherever they are."

Carr went 25 for 35 for 199 yards. Three of his TD passes were to Crabtree, who finished with seven catches for 88 yards.

The Ravens (3-1) trailed 14-3 in the second quarter and 21-12 with 11:11 to go before coming back.

A 52-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to Steve Smith cut the deficit to 21-19. Ravens defensive tackleLawrence Guy then forced a fumble by DeAndre Washington, and Baltimore recovered at the Oakland 17.

Four plays later, Terrance West scored from the 3 to give Baltimore its first lead.

Oakland had the appropriate response, dropping the Ravens to 49-17 at home over the past nine seasons.

"At the end of the day just a gritty, gritty win," Del Rio said. "A great road win against a really good football team."

The Ravens won their previous three games by excelling in the fourth quarter. This game was a throwback to last year, when Carr pulled out a 37-33 win over Baltimore.

Operating against a porous defense ranked 32nd in the NFL, the Ravens didn't reach the end zone until deep into the third quarter. Flacco was pressured in the pocket for much of the afternoon, in part because starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley was inactive with a foot injury.

Baltimore was called for offensive holding five times and yielded two sacks.

The Ravens closed to 14-12 with 2:41 left in the third quarter when Flacco bulled in from the 1 to complete a 72-yard drive that consumed seven minutes.

The comeback lost some steam when Bruce Irvin sacked Flacco, forcing a fumble that Oakland recovered on the Baltimore 29.

That led to a 13-yard touchdown pass to Crabtree after the Ravens jumped offside on a fourth-and-1.

NUMBERS LIE

Raiders: Despite getting only 13 first downs and 261 yards, in addition to being penalized 12 times for 93 yards, Oakland found a way to win.

Ravens: Flacco went 32 for 52 for 298 yards, and the Ravens amassed 412 yards in offense. Unfortunately for the Ravens, all their points over the first 42 minutes came from Justin Tucker .

QUOTABLE:

Raiders: Del Rio on Crabtree: "He's been sensational since Day One. He's a real pro, he's a tough guy, he loves football, he's really competitive and he's got great hands."

Ravens: "You put pressure on yourself when you have that many penalties," said coach John Harbaugh, referring to Baltimore's 10 penalties for 105 yards.

NO FORSETT: After starting the Ravens' first three games, RB Justin Forsett was placed on the inactive list. ... West ran for a career-high 113 yards and Javorius Allen picked up 13 in his season debut. Flacco has two of Baltimore's three rushing TDs this season.

INJURIES: Raiders: TE Lee Smith (ankle) was hurt in the second quarter and did not return. ... LB Malcolm Smith left in the fourth quarter with a groin injury.

Tucker's late field goal lifts Ravens to 19-17 win at Jags

As his 54-yard field goal split the uprights, Justin Tucker raised both arms in celebration and turned toward Baltimore's bench.

He probably should have taken a bow.

Tucker kicked four field goals, including the long-distance winner with 1:02 remaining, and the Ravens remained unbeaten with a 19-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The fourth quarter featured four interceptions, a muffed punt, a blocked field goal and a huge fourth-down conversation. The fourth-down play - Joe Flacco's short pass to Steve Smith - helped set up Tucker's kick.

"It was controlled chaos. That's all it is," Smith said. "In the fourth quarter, there are either blowouts or there are nail-biters, and that definitely was a nail-biter. We make it interesting, and I think we make it more interesting than we really like."

The Ravens improved to 3-0 for the third time in franchise history and first time since 2009.

The Jaguars are 0-3 for the third time in the last four years and surely will hear more talk about coach Gus Bradley's job security. Bradley is now 12-39 in four seasons, the second-worst winning percentage of any NFL coach with at least 50 games.

The blame for this one fell on Blake Bortles and an offense that had plenty of chances down the stretch. The Ravens turned the ball over on three consecutive possessions in the fourth - Devin Hester muffed a punt, and Flacco threw back-to-back interceptions - and gave Jacksonville the ball in field-goal range all three times.

The Jaguars came away with three points, thanks to Blake Bortles' second of three interceptions and Jason Myers' blocked field goal.

"We have to stop giving games away," Jaguars veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis said. "Execution down the stretch could have been better. The turnovers, the penalties, you do that in this league, the parity is so good in this league, the margin for error is so small, you can't be out there playing like on some plays like we've never practiced it.

"We've got to go out there and execute. I feel sick right now."

FRANCHISE RECORD: Flacco completed 29 of 40 passes for 214 yards. It doesn't seem like a record-setting outing, but it was. He broke his own franchise record for consecutive completions by connecting on 21 straight. Flacco misfired on four of his first five throws, but then reeled off 21 in a row. The streak ended on Mike Wallace's drop in the end zone early in the third quarter. Flacco's previous record was 14 straight set in 2009.

BRIGHT SPOT: Allen Robinson was Jacksonville's lone bright spot on offense. He finished with seven catches for 57 yards and two touchdowns. He had a 3-yard score in the first quarter and an 11-yarder in the third. After his first TD of the season, Robinson chucked the ball into the stands in a release of frustration.

"In these first couple of games, I may have left some plays out there or I may not have impacted the game how I know I can," Robinson said. "I'm trying to lead this team each and every week."

PENALTY BOOST: Tucker's 42-yard field goal at the end of the first half was huge, and it was helped by two Jacksonville penalties. The Jaguars looked like they had forced a three-and-out, but Malik Jackson was flagged for roughing the passer when he touched Flacco's facemask. Tucker was short on a 57-yarder a few plays later, but Dante Fowler Jr. was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for "leveraging" during the kick. The 15-yard penalty gave Tucker another shot from 42 yards, and he drilled it.

WOE LINE: Injuries forced the Jaguars to shuffle their offensive line for the first time this season. Left tackle Kelvin Beachum (concussion) and center Brandon Linder (knee) were inactive, leaving center Tyler Shatley and guard Chris Reed to make their first career starts. The injuries also forced guard Luke Joeckel to slide back to left tackle. All the movement was evident as Bortles was sacked four times and Jacksonville averaged 2.3 yards a carry.

SLOW START: Bortles now has thrown first-quarter interceptions in every game this season, leading to 17 points for opponents. Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley had the latest, making a leaping, one-handed catch in front of Allen Robinson down the field. The Ravens turned it into a field goal and a 10-0 lead.

IVORY RETURNS: Running back Chris Ivory made his Jaguars debut but was mostly ineffective. Ivory missed the first two games because of a "general medical issue" that required an overnight hospital stay. Ivory was a 1,000-yard rusher with the New York Jets last season. He finished with 14 yards on 12 carries, hobbling to the sideline several times with an apparent knee injury.
